Mayor's Grove

The Mayor's Grove is a beautiful section of Beacon Hill Park that is home to a wide variety of trees and other plant species. The grove was established in 1927 when Mayor J.C. Penny conceived the idea of a tree planting ceremony for the delegates of the Western Mayor Convention. In subsequent years several 35 Mayors and dignataries have turned the sod and added their signature trees to the meadow.
