Lawn Bowling

The Lawn Bowling Club located in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, BC, Canada has a long and storied history dating back over a century. The club was originally established in 1908 and has been an important part of the community ever since.

In its early years, the club had a small membership and played on a small green located near the park's petting zoo. Over time, the club grew in size and popularity, and in the 1930s, it moved to its current location near the south end of the park.

During World War II, the club's activities were temporarily suspended due to the shortage of players and the need to conserve resources. However, after the war, the club was revitalized, and it continued to grow in popularity throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

In 1973, the club underwent a major renovation, with a new clubhouse and greens being constructed. The following year, the club hosted the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships, which was a major milestone for the club and the sport in Canada.

Since then, the club has continued to thrive, attracting new members and hosting numerous local and national tournaments. Today, the Lawn Bowling Club located in Beacon Hill Park is one of the most popular and respected clubs in Canada, and it continues to play an important role in the community
